Hong-Seong-Bang, Moseul-po port, Seoguipo, Jeju
After stopping the carbohydrate-free diet, breakfast got more colour with rye bread.
I had breakfast in Jeju city with friends before taking a flight to Seoul. We visited a fish-soup restaurant. We four ordered the same menu, fish soup. The soup looked simple—horse mackerel and cabbage, but perfect for stomach-soothing for hangovers. I enjoyed the soup and side dishes as well. Side dish included yellow crocker jjorim(stew-like), […]
Although dwaeji gukbap(pork soup with rice) is prevalent in Korea, it’s challenging to meet a decent-quality one. Guided by a local in Seoguipo, Jeju island, I happened to have an excellent soup. It tasted simple, clean and chemical-free, but with the authentic flavour of the food. I guessed the cook understood well the pork meat […]
My wife and I were on a work trip in Daegu. As being in Daegu, we visited a famous flat dumpling house. The house has moved to another location nearby. Like a rule, when moving, especially to a fancier place, food gets worse. The house was not an exception. I suppose that I would not […]
We were supposed to have dinner at a grill house in Wontong. Arrived but found it closed. We were to find another one. Asked and recommended by an habitant, we visited, so-called, the most popular grill house in Wontong. We tried marinated and not marinated fresh pork rib. and Meghan and Camilla seemed to enjoy […]
Before dinner, desired to have THE famous Daepohang fry in Sokcho. There’s only one house I like. I enjoyed various fried stuff: shrimp, baby crab, sweet potato, chilli, perilla leaf.
Hungry and for the road, had bibimbap at a restaurant in Osaekyanksoo area in mountain Seorak. Not bad, not exceptional, but far better than most bibimbap in Seoul. Doenjang soup was good.
Vegetables for breakfast as always, but good to have beetroot this morning. Beetroot, marinated, and slightly poached. A bowl of beansprouts to fill up.
